Turkey: Inflation Surged on Food and Energy
Resumen
Consumer prices rose by 1.6% in December, significantly higher than the market consensus of 0.9%. Annual headline inflation surged to 8.5% from 7.0% in November. The surprise factor was the sizable jump in food inflation, while increases in alcohol&tobacco, energy and core prices were expected.
