Market Comment | Federal Reserve’s rate hike pushed up bond yields and the USD

As expected, the FOMC increased the Fed funds rate by 25 bps to 0.75%. With market expectations fully pricing in a rate increase, positive financial developments in the post-election period, and employment and inflation edging closer to its targets, the move resuming policy normalisation was consistent with its data-dependent strategy.
