    Ukraine-Russia: tensions will continue in 2016

    Summary

    As 2015 was coming to a close, the relationship between Russia and Ukraine worsened after a convulse year with continuous ups and downs. The ongoing economic and geopolitical tensions between them have intensified. There has also been a revival of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine with further risk of escalation, leading the Minsk II agreement to be extended into 2016.
