Spain: Trade balance in may 2014

    Summary

The 12-month accumulated trade deficit increases in May to reach a figure of -2.0% of GDP. May´s data shows a fall in the non-energy goods trade surplus, coupled with an increase in the energy-related trade deficit. The current dynamics of the trade balance in Spain make increasingly difficult to achieve a sustainable current account surplus.
