Spain | Long series of GVA and regional employment by sector, 1955-2019
This Working Paper describes the latest update of the sectoral module of the RegData FEDEA-BBVA database, in which the regional series of employment (employed and salaried), Gross Value Added (GVA) at current and constant prices and employee compensation in the main RegData module are disaggregated by sector.
Key points
- Key points:
- Regional GVA deflators are also constructed for each sector, working with a disaggregation in six large branches of production (tentatively extendable to eight).
- The series start in 1955 and continues up to 2018 and 2019. This year's update requires a linkage between the previous version of RegData and the new INE Spanish Regional Accounts (SRA), which began in 2016.
- These series are linked to previous official series, with the BBVA Foundation's historical series (1999) and other sources in order to obtain homogeneous linked series that extend backward as much as possible.
