Spain | Autonomous community finances in 2020 and between 2003 and 2020
This Working Paper analyzes the evolution of the country's regional finances from 2003 to the present day, with a particular focus on 2020, for which the preliminary data has just been published.
Key points
- Key points:
- The 2003 financial year is used as a starting point because this is the first year in which all autonomous communities were responsible for managing healthcare for the full financial year.
- As there have been no significant changes in terms of the funds allocated, the series corresponds to a period in which the spending power of all the autonomous communities has remained virtually unchanged, but that is not say these funds are distributed equally.
- Particular attention is paid to the evolution of expenditure per capita at constant prices.
- Accounts from recent years are also analyzed in some detail and the impact that some atypical factors have had on them is highlighted.
