Peru | Tracking consumption with real-time data in November 2022
BBVA Research's big data consumption index (inflation-adjusted spending with cards and cash withdrawals) accelerated in November to 8.7% (October: 7.6%).

- In November, card purchases grew 19% YoY, maintaining their share of total spending (41%). Within card purchases, the online channel again showed high growth (35% YoY) and increased its share (47% vs. 45% in October; 20% in 2019).
- So far in the fourth quarter (October and November), BBVA Research's Big Data Consumer Index for Peru exhibited a recovery from the previous quarter.
- By items, food, health and entertainment expenditures increased their YoY expansion rate; transportation, restaurants and fashion and beauty expenditures slowed down; and excursions and travel expenditures lost momentum, while accommodation expenditures contracted more sharply.
