Peru | Inflation surprising on the upside in December
In December inflation reached 0.45% m/m, above market expectations, due to the increase in public services and transportation tariffs. As a result, yoy inflation settled at 4.4%. Going forward, we foresee inflation accelerating onwards on the back of further domestic currency depreciation and “El Niño” weather phenomenon negative effects.
