    In June, 4,440 million dollars (md) entered Mexico in remittances (+ 25.5%) and achieved a streak of 14 consecutive months with increases. During the 1st semester they accumulated 23,618 md, achieving an advance of 22.4% at an annual rate. 95.2% of remittances were sent from the US.

    • 95.2% of remittances to Mexico were sent from the United States (22,495 million dollars), mainly from California, Texas, Minnesota, Arizona, Florida, and Illinois, which together represented two-thirds of the resources from that country.
    • From El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala, 92 million dollars of remittances were sent to Mexico during the first half of 2021. Part of these resources could be sent to pay for transit migration in order to reach the “American Dream”.
    • By municipality or territorial demarcation, Tijuana (354 md), Guadalajara (299 md), Álvaro Obregón (273 md), Morelia (260 md) and Cd. Juárez (245 md) received the most remittances.
