Mexico | From 2004 to 2021, coverage of ATMs increased from 28 to 62 per 100,000 adults
Financial inclusion has four pillars, one of them has to do with “access”, generally it is seen as the supply of financial products; therefore, this note presents information on the coverage of traditional mechanisms that the population has to access multiple banking.

- In ten years (from 2014 to 2024), on average each federal entity has reduced 2.5 branches per 100,000 adults and has increased 30.7 ATMs per 100,000 adults.
- In March 2024, 77.3% of municipalities had at least one branch, ATM or point-of-sale terminal, and 98.1% of Mexico's population was located there.
- In March 2024, BBVA México was the only branch in the municipality of 0.4% of Mexico's population (472,526 people).
