On August 29, 2022, the results of the National Survey on Business Financing (ENAFIN) 2021 were presented. This report aims to analyze the progress and challenges regarding the financial inclusion of companies, reviewing issues of financing and digital payment methods.

  • With marginal advances in the use of financing. Less than half of the companies have requested financing since the beginning of their operations.
  • There is a significant difference in the use of financing in relation to the size of the company. While in medium-sized companies, 7 out of 10 companies have requested financing, only 4 out of 10 micro companies have done so.
  • The acceptance of credit cards as means of receiving payments went from 34.5% in 2017 to 42.5% in 2020.
  • The evolution in the use of mobile banking went from being at a level close to 6% in 2017, to a level of 34.0% in 2020.
  • 38.5% of companies implemented work at home in 2020 and although its execution decreased to 27.5% in 2021, the advantages of use will allow it to continue and probably become more widespread.
