Mexico | Despite the inflation context, labor poverty fell 3.2pp in 2022Q1
The behavior of labor poverty of the Mexican population is presented for the first quarter of 2022. The decrease in labor poverty is mainly due to two factors: the increase in real labor income per capita of 6.7% and the increase of 3.1 million in the working population.

- As of the first quarter of 2022, only 6 of 32 federal entities have lower levels of labor poverty than before the COVID-19 pandemic: Baja California, Campeche, Colima, Chiapas, Nayarit, and San Luis Potosí.
- Two years after the start of the pandemic, the most affected entities were Mexico City, which increased its proportion of the population in labor poverty from 29.1% to 35.9% (+6.8pp), and Puebla, where this indicator increased from 42.9 % to 49.2% (+6.3pp).
