Latin America Economic Outlook. First Quarter 2016

Summary

In the context of a background of domestic and external weakness, growth in Latin America will hit bottom in 2016 and should recover in 2017 (-0.9% and 1.9%). Inflation remains high in most of the countries. Exchange rates should remain at relatively depreciated. Trade deficits have begun to be corrected, although greater pressure is expected on public fiscal balances.
