LatAm: Growth Is Low And Tensions Are High
The outlook in Latin America in recent weeks has been marked by general elections in Argentina, Bolivia and Uruguay. This is in addition to extensive protests in Ecuador and Chile.

- Our latest forecasts suggest that the region will grow by 0.7% in 2019, three tenths less than we thought three months ago.
- In 2020, we expect growth to increase moderately, and in almost all countries, supported by more accommodating monetary policy.
- But growth in the region will remain below that of developed economies, as has been the case for seven years.
