In June, economic activity contracted in Brazil and GDP growth was weak in Peru
Summary
In Brazil, the decline in the monthly activity index, as well as the downwards revision of the May figure, reinforce the downward bias to our forecast for 2Q14 GDP. In Colombia, both industrial production and retail sales figures surprised to the downside in June, confirming the downward bias to our GDP growth forecast. Today we expect Chilean GDP to have declined 0.03% QoQ in 2Q14.
