    Summary

    Consumption slows down in the last week of September but the whole month is above previous months. With the beginning of the new phase of isolation, the tourism sectors continue to rise but purchases in online channels are weakening.

    • Spending on restaurants reaches new highs while spending on fuel and transportation has slowed in the last week.
    • In the month, credit card spending is recovered more than debit card spending. Cash withdrawals drop 12% per year.
    • Fuel spending in September falls by nearly 30% per year in Bucaramanga, Barranquilla, Cartagena and Bogotá. In Pereira and Cali this sector falls less than in other cities.
    • In Bogotá, spending on clothing continues to recover and, for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, is higher than spending on fuel.
