In April, the national unemployment rate was 10.6%, similar to a year ago and, seasonally adjusted, lower than in March 2024. The April rate results are due to the good performance of employment, which to some extent was due to the higher number of working days in April than in March, due to Easter Week.

- Annual job creation accelerated between March and April, from -0.7% annual growth in March to 0.5% (123 thousand jobs) in April, at the national level. At the urban level, in the main capital cities, these figures were 1.5% and 3.2% (340 thousand jobs), respectively.
- Out of the 123 thousand annual jobs created as of April, services were the main generators, contributing with 326 thousand jobs. As of April, agriculture destroyed 109 thousand jobs, being the sector that destroyed the most jobs in the year.
- Regionally, the large cities created 340 thousand jobs (growing at 3.2% annually) and the rest of the cities destroyed 83 thousand jobs (falling at 1.1% annually), as did the countryside, which destroyed 135 thousand jobs (falling at 2.8% annually).
