    Summary

    Consumption in July was 17.6% above that recorded in the same period in 2019, the highest record since the beginning of the pandemic. While goods had a good dynamic, especially those related to health and food, it was services that drove consumption in the month.

    • Apparel spending in July was again above its pre-pandemic level at 3.5% higher, only Nov-20 was higher due to the VAT-free day.
    • Spending in restaurants continued with good dynamics at the end of July and closed the month 19.4% above that recorded in the same month of 2019, its highest level since the beginning of the pandemic.
    • Airline spending in July showed a slowdown and was 33.1% below that recorded in the same month in 2019.
