Argentina | Post-pandemic future of the sectors

    Summary

This paper analyzes how Argentina's productive sectors have been affected by the COVID-19 crisis and how they will evolve towards 2030 in the face of the long-term challenges set at the local and global levels.

    Key points

    • Key points:
    • The vulnerabilities of each country were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving serious marks at the international level and raising complex challenges that will have to be addressed in the new normality.
    • Among the most revolutionary drivers in the post-pandemic normalization are climate change, population aging and digitalization, on which the core of this research is based.
    • The Argentine economy was very heterogeneously affected by the coronavirus crisis, which exposed socioeconomic challenges, mainly those related to the labor market.
    • The relative participation of productive sectors in Argentina will be rebalanced by 2030, driven by sustainability, digital transformation, demographic reconfiguration and the need to address pending structural reforms.
