2Q14 LFS: a strain relief
The evolution of the labour market in 2Q14 as measured by the Spanish LFS was encouraging and offset the surprise to the downside observed in 1Q14. In spite of the unexpected uptick in active population figures, the rise of employment resulted in a remarkable reduction of the unemployment rate to 24.5%.
