2014 G-SIFIS list: few changes but finally binding for G-SIB capital purposes
As expected, on November 6 2014 the Financial Stability Board (FSB) released a new update of the G-SIB list, using end-2013 data. A new Chinese bank has been incorporated to the list, making it a total of 30 G-SIBs now; moreover the position of two European banks has been revised down to the lowest bucket level (+1% CET1). But the true highlight lies with the fact that this will be the first list being used to determine G-SIB buffers starting from January 2016 on. The FSB has also updated the list for Global Systemically Important Insurers (G-SIIs) with no changes with respect to 2013.
