Ismael joined BBVA Research in March 2025. He holds a degree in economics from the University of Vigo, a Master in Research (MRes) in Economic Analysis from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (IDEA program), and a Master of Science (MSc) in Big Data from the Carlos III University of Madrid. He currently works in the area of Modeling, where he does forecasting with machine learning models and studies the impact of macroeconomic shocks using econometric techniques.
