This study examines how inflation in 2021 affected wealth inequality in Spain through three channels: the traditional wealth channel, the income channel, and the relative consumption channel. The wealth and income channels had significantly larger effects than the consumption channel.

Spain | The Cyclical Behavior of GDP and Consumption up to the Second Quarter of 2024
This Observatory evaluates the factors explaining the cyclical behavior of GDP and private consumption in Spain up to Q2 2024. It analyzes the supply and demand factors behind the GDP per working-age person (PET) gap of -1.3 pp from its trend level and the weaker performance of consumption compared to pre-pandemic levels.

Spain Economic Outlook. October 2024
GDP growth forecasts have been revised upwards by 0.4 percentage points for 2024 to reach 2.9%, and by 0.3 pp for 2025 to reach 2.4%. This is due to statistical revisions of historical data, recent developments more favorable than expected, and improved estimates of external and internal demand contributions.
