Spain | 2024 Regional Economic Yearbook of Catalonia
With 30 editions already published, the BBVA Regional Economic Yearbook is the most detailed and complete report on the economy of the regions of Catalonia. Online access through a digital portal is a new feature this year. The increase in Catalonia’s GVA in 2023 (2.9%) has already brought it back to pre-pandemic levels.

Colombia Economic Outlook. December 2024
GDP will grow 2.5% in 2025 and 3.2% in 2026, driven by private consumption in durable goods, semi-durables, and services starting in 2026, and by fixed investment in infrastructure, machinery, and housing. Inflation will be 3.1% in 2026, with lower interest rates strengthening financial conditions.

Spain Economic Outlook. December 2024
GDP growth in 2024 has been revised upward by 0.2 percentage points, reaching 3.1%, driven by stronger-than-expected performance in the third quarter and a slight acceleration in job creation in the fourth. Growth is projected at 2.3% in 2025 and could settle at 1.7% in 2026.

Peru Economic Outlook. December 2024
The Peruvian economy will grow 3,1% in 2024, 0,2pp more than expected in October. The revision mainly reflects the third quarter positive surprise. For 2025 we expect a 2,7% expansion, amid a challenging external context, but also when large infrastructure projects will begin construction.

Growth will be around 3% for the third consecutive year in 2024, but a slowdown ahead is likely, driven by a less supportive global environment and higher-than-anticipated SELIC rates. The balance of risks has recently worsened, reflecting global factors and rising concerns over fiscal imbalances.

We expect US protectionism to fuel uncertainty, and pressure global growth downwards and inflation upwards. In Türkiye, soft landing efforts remain on growth and employment outlook, increasing the downside risks on public spending cuts. Monetary policy communication becomes less hawkish and signals an easing cycle soon.

The Mexican economy will grow at an annual rate of 1.2% by the end of 2024. Construction will close with a GDP growth of 10.1%, accumulated to the 2Q24, and will sustain the weak growth of the Mexican economy in 2024.

Mexico | Minimum Wage Reform: Progress or Setback?
The Senate of the Republic approved a resolution mandating that minimum wages be adjusted annually, at least in line with inflation, to prevent the loss of purchasing power and benefit low-income workers.

Spain | GDP grew 0.8% q/q in 3Q24, same as in 2Q24.
Activity returned to strong growth in the third quarter (0.8% YoY), driven by domestic demand. Consumption offset the sluggishness of investment and net external demand, which made a negative contribution to growth. GDP growth was driven by productivity, as hours worked grew by only 0.2%.
